There comes a time in everyone’s life when they have to make a decision about their future. Whether it’s deciding which college to attend, what car to buy or what career to follow, the need to make decisions like this are a fact of life.
When you think about it, though, there is one other decision that only a small percentage of people make in their lives, while many others ignore it, and, unfortunately end up regretting having not made that decision. I am speaking, of course about the decision to finally get serious about their health and wellness, and start living a better, more energetic life!
You see, the trouble is that too many people take the subject of their health too lightly, and it eventually comes back to haunt them later. Too many people would rather put it off for another time, or until next week, or next month, or next year, until finally it’s too late, and they are either forced to do something about it due to a serious health scare, or, Heaven forbid, something much worse!
The way that I tend to refer to these people is that they are almost living their lives by “proxy.” In other words, they want someone else to be the one to deal with their health and wellness concerns, or authorize someone else to be in charge of making them healthy. Now, I want you to honestly ask yourself if you are one of these people? Have you “authorized” someone else to look after your health?
Do you feel it’s up to your political leaders and your public health care system to look after you because you didn’t take the responsibility to do it for yourself? Hospitals are overcrowded, health care workers like doctors and nurses are terribly overworked, and the money spent annually to keep these people functioning is way out of control!
I have always said that when someone makes the decision to lead a healthier life, you can see it in their eyes, and you can tell by the way they carry themselves. Most of all, you can tell by their attitude towards their health because it almost does a complete 180A�.
They finally get it, and you can almost hear them say “Nobody is going to make me fit and healthy except ME!”
So what happens to these people to make them do such a drastic turnaround?
Here’s 10 things that I feel you MUST TELL YOURSELF to do…
Tell yourself that you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired!
Tell yourself that you want to be around to watch your kids grow up!
Tell yourself that being lazy is no longer an option for you!
Tell yourself that no one else is going to do this for you!
Tell yourself that you can do it!
Tell yourself that it won’t be easy, but it will be well worth the effort!
Tell yourself that you want to live longer!
Tell yourself that no junk food tastes as good as being fit and healthy feels!
Tell yourself that you’re going to live your life to the fullest!
Tell yourself that fat loss by proxy doesn’t exist!
You are all familiar with the old saying “when you want something done right, you DO IT YOURSELF.” Well, now it’s your turn to prove that statement to be true. Get up, get moving, get eating well, and then pass it on. Don’t rely on someone else to make you healthy. Take a good look into a mirror and tell the person looking back at you all ten of those statements. If need be, do it every day until it finally sinks in. Don’t be part of another statistic that describes the staggering obesity and diabetic rates throughout the world!
