Finding a Good Emergency Plumber

Finding a qualified and reliable plumbing in today’s society is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Most companies advertise that they are operate on a 24 hr/365 days a year basis, however, should some emergency happen at say 2:00 a.m. and you call these companies, it is either one of two things: the phone line rings without any answer and if you are lucky enough to have an actual human being and not a machine pick up the phone, you are told that there is no plumber available and that one can be scheduled in for the first thing in the morning. Well my answer to that is always “NO”. 24 hours should mean exactly what is say 24 hours.

Some companies will have hidden charges and tell you “we do not have any call out charges”, however once the plumber has come to your property and show you the bill after he has finished, you will need to take out a mortgage to pay the high cost. Why can’t they be honest enough to say to you, well our charges are this. Some companies have different charges for different time of the day or evening. Why does everyone have to make life so complicated?

How often do we get companies who send a plumber out and then that person totally disappears in your home only to return one hour later with the bill. We all want a company who will be professional enough to diagnose the problem firstly and inform you every step of the way as to what is happening. They should offer you options as to the next step to be taken and let you the customer make up your mind if you want to go ahead. Some companies will tell you that a plumber will be out in the next 2 hours time and we are there sitting a home waiting for in excess of 4 hours. Why do they do that? Why can’t they give you a rough estimate and if they are running late, telephone you to inform you what is happening. Is that too much to ask? I will tell you why, because they think that as customers, you are not important and you can wait. Where are the days when a customer was “king”?

Plumbing services are in great demand and there are a lot of young people being trained in this highly demanded skill. After all, the job can sometimes be dirty and back breaking but the real satisfaction at the end of it is to know that you have solved a problem that could potentially lead to a disaster.

Many people might think that a plumber is there only to fix a leaking pipe, but this is far from the truth. The role of a plumber is varied to include installation of a bathroom, fixing leaking radiators, fixing taps, making sure that hot and cold water feeds are working properly, just to name a few.

We see on programmes like “Wanted Down Under – New Zealand”, that plumbers are in great demand and have even sought to recruit from the UK because our plumbers are rated the best.
