Prevent H1N1 Swine Flu in Kids – 2 Things You Must Keep Your Children From Doing

The H1N1 Swine Flu has got more media attention than any other flu in this generation and doctors are still saying that it isn’t any more deadly than regular seasonal flu. The hype seems to be centered around helping to sell the swine flu vaccination to the public. What if you don’t plan on giving your children the vaccine? Swine Flu is no laughing matter but keeping things on the lighter side from personal experience I have compiled a list of things to avoid to help prevent the swine flu in kids.

Don’t lick the table when you are at McDonald’s

Yes this actually happened today. I’ll tell you how to avoid this. When you get a hot fudge sundae for your kids don’t let the hot fudge drip out onto the table. My daughter had the irresistible urge to lick the hot fudge off the table. This happened in a split second but was like watching a train crash in slow motion and I couldn’t stop it.

Keep their hands out of their mouths and eyes after touching everything in sight

This was also at McDonald’s. What is it with a child’s urge to touch everything they see but then immediately follow that up with putting their hands in their mouth, eyes, or their fingers up their nose or their brothers and sisters mouth and face? I am carrying Purell to sanitize their hands but end up going through an entire 5 gallon jug within minutes. I still don’t have a good answer for this aside from making them wear giant gloves.

For now I think I’ll just go to the drive-through when getting them their Saturday Happy Meal. Prevent H1N1 in kids by keeping their hands really clean. It’s tough to get them to keep their hands out of their face, eyes, and mouth so be a proactive parent and do your best to keep those little hands sanitized.
