Swine Flu and You

Many of you will recall that there was a plethora of news stores, scares, panic and miss-information being circulated about the rate of H1N1 infection and subsequent deaths in the Fall of 2009. We were lead to believe that healthy people were dropping like flies. And that the “smart” people were the ones running, not walking, to their nearest health center, because after all, vaccines were in such short supply.

Meanwhile our goodly neighbors to the North were suspending vaccinations in some Provinces and looking instead at supplementation through Vitamin D as a strategy to boost immune levels to prevent H1N1. Now that’s interesting. The many conflicting stories regarding H1N1 have left us confused and scared. So I did some digging and this is what I found:

The CDC stopped tracking confirmed cases of the Swine Flu in July. RED FLAG. Why would the Center for Disease Control not consider this information vitally important? Close monitoring of any “epidemic” seems, well, essential for the public good. So let me see if I can sum this up. The CDC declares that there is a Swine Flu “epidemic.” State my State tracking of H1N1 begins but is suddenly halted. Millions of vaccines are ordered with Big Pharma smiling all the way to the bank and the government propaganda machine is cranked up.

My sense is that the Swine Flu is dying out. However, the federal health agency is still encouraging folks to get the vaccine at this time (isn’t flu season ending soon?) because the supply and availability of the vaccine has increased drastically. Amazing. But then again we wouldn’t want those vaccines to go to waste now would we? Oh and there’s something else, CBS investigative reporter Sharly Attiksoon was able to obtain state lab-confirmed H1N1 results PRIOR to the CDC halt of individual testing and tracking in July. The results show that the vast majority of cases that were thought to be H1N1, tested negative.

Did you know that there was also a Swine Flu “Epidemic” back in 1976? Yup – that’s the truth. Watch this 60 Minutes documentary which was aired only once. Interesting, very interesting. In the end we will probably never know the full truth about the 2009-2010 Swine Flu Epidemic. Did vaccinating some 60 million Americans help to keep H1N1 in check? Who knows? Some research has suggested that those who were vaccinated were twice as likely to get the virus!

There are just too many unanswered questions for me to feel comfortable enough to roll up my sleeves. I think I’ll pass, thank you very much. I’ve adopted a “build my own immunity” strategy to take me through the rest of this Flu Season and for all the Flu seasons to come. Swine Flu Epidemic – I don’t think so.
